Commending Coach Dunham

It is with regret that we learned of Coach Kevin Dunham's resignation from the Mount Anthony varsity soccer program. We have had numerous soccer coaches over our years of playing the sport and few were able to match the dedication to and passion for their teams that Coach Dunham brought to every season.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Wed, 19 Nov 2008 03:06:13 EST</updateDate>

Letters
<articleAbstract>Tuesday, November 18

Moving slowly,

but ever forward

An acclaimed made-for television movie of 1974, "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman," based upon the 1971 novel of the same name by Earnest J. Gaines, seems to me to hold much significance considering the results of our recent presidential election.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Tue, 18 Nov 2008 03:04:17 EST</updateDate>

Letters2
<articleAbstract>Tuesday, November 18

Votes appreciated

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Bennington and North Bennington in District 2-1 for their support given to me at the polls on Nov. 4. If any residents have concerns or questions about the upcoming legislative session, please feel free to contact me.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Tue, 18 Nov 2008 03:04:17 EST</updateDate>

Some help through
<articleAbstract>Monday, November 17

the Medicare maze

In 2009, patients in some of the most popular Medicare drug plans will be seeing a large increase in their premiums, some as high as 60 per cent. Information on premiums and coverage options for 2009 has been available since Oct. 1. Even patients who can afford the higher premiums need to check to see if their drugs will still be covered next year.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Mon, 17 Nov 2008 03:03:44 EST</updateDate>

Letters 14
<articleAbstract>Friday, November 14

Campaign supporters thanked

I want to take a moment to thank those who voted for me and supported me in one way or another during my recent campaign for a seat in the Vermont House of Representatives.

Although our effort came up a little short, it was a wonderful experience for me, as well as a highly educational one.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Fri, 14 Nov 2008 03:07:02 EST</updateDate>

Letters
<articleAbstract>Friday, November 14

You missed a great show

I'd like to begin by saying that the play "Beauty & the Beast," which played seven times, two for elementary school children, had support from the community, which sold out shows and provided financial help for costumes, etc., was extraordinary.

The directors and students spent many long hours putting on this play, which in my opinion was</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Fri, 14 Nov 2008 03:07:00 EST</updateDate>

Letters 12
<articleAbstract>Wednesday, November 12

Thanks for your votes

My heartfelt gratitude goes out to the people of Danby, Dorset, Landgrove, Mount Tabor and Peru for your support in re-electing me as your state representative. I am truly honored with the trust you have placed in me and promise to continue to work hard for our community.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Wed, 12 Nov 2008 03:06:33 EST</updateDate>

Letters
<articleAbstract>Tuesday, November 11

Proud to have been

a part of what happened

Not so long ago, I had written a letter to the Banner that stated we had not come far as a nation in our acceptance of the African American culture. Today, I stand corrected. With the announcement that Barrack Obama had been elected president came our coming together as a nation and that we have overcome diversity in</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Tue, 11 Nov 2008 03:03:53 EST</updateDate>

Letters 11
<articleAbstract>Tuesday, November 11

It is time for us

to work together

The elections are now over and we extend our appreciation to all those who unsuccessfully sought to serve the people of Vermont. To the victors go our congratulations and a reminder that you will need the help of many, including those who ran and lost, to address the challenges confronting our state in the years just ahead.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Tue, 11 Nov 2008 03:03:52 EST</updateDate>

Letters, Money values, not wealth
<articleAbstract>Monday, November 10

Regarding the financial crisis — stocks falling, banks failing, credit tight — some matters of terminology need clarification.

Decline in stock prices and bank failures are not in themselves diminution of wealth. The buildings, forests, cities, goods, resources, business, people of a nation are its wealth, the ultimate basis of its well-being.</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Mon, 10 Nov 2008 10:34:47 EST</updateDate>

Letters
<articleAbstract>Saturday, November 8

Now, the hard part

The campaigning is over, the votes have been counted and now the hard work begins. Our nation and our state are faced with a multitude of major problems, and I believe it is critically important that we all put our divisions and disagreements behind us and look forward as one people united, regardless of what party, what philosophy, what positions, we</articleAbstract>
<updateDate>Sat, 8 Nov 2008 03:03:07 EST</updateDate>
